“It’s a new day, it’s a new a new dawn, it’s a new life for me, and I’m feelin’ good ” Happy New Year to you all! I hope everyone avoided the naughty list and had an enjoyable holiday break. I must have just evaded the list, because my holiday was indeed bountiful. Bountiful in time well spent. Playing cards with friends, catching up on movies my crew and I have missed, spending time with my husband and his mom, traveling to see my mother, hanging with the kids, and adoring friends. This really means the most to me. December was also very giving in the preliminary department. Here’s the scoop on what you may have missed.

December 2nd, our crew traveled to Louisiana and were graciously welcomed for the Miss Louisiana USofA Diva pageant. There, we celebrated the reign of Rayvn Noir Downe and crowned our new Miss Louisiana USofA Diva, Koko Valentine, and her 1st alternate, Black Widow. Congratula- tions to you two on your qualifications! Thank you to Daren Ables, Hunta Downe, and Corner bar for being so generous and kind to us. I really had a blast. Shortly after, we ventured on an excursion to Springfield for the Miss Missouri USofA Diva pageant held by Tawny and Missy Choate.

Excellent work, you guys on such a memorable night and your incredible hospitality. Congrats to Trixie Meow on a beautiful reign. Congratulations to Phoenix St James Monet on capturing the crown, her 1st alternate, Karma Marie, and Scarlette Paige on her 2nd alternate placement. All 3 qualify! Thank you, ClubTouche for taking care of us. Next, our journey led us to Nashville, Tennessee, where we honored the reign of Monroe Fitzgerald, and crowned our new Miss Tennessee USofA Diva, Jameson St James. I would also like to congratulate Trixie Meow on her 1st alternate placement, and Jazmine Sage on her 2nd alternate qualification. Great job, ladies! I’m so proud of you, and can’t wait to see what team Tennessee brings to the table in March. A special thanks, also goes out to Jessica Patterson and Play Night Club for everything you do for us. After spending some time with the Tennessee family, we continued to the last leg of our 2016 Diva preliminary adventure to Evansville, Indiana for the Miss Indiana USofA Diva pre show and pageant. It was so awesome to be welcomed in like family and we sure had a blast. Thank you to Jody Bockman and Tiffani Farley on an extravagant pageant, and being amazing hosts. The two of you and your exceptional administrative work definitely deserve to be recognized. Wonderful production and step down brought to you by Cherry Poppins, where we celebrated her reign. Congratulations to Tareal Davenport Phillips for attaining the title of Miss Indiana USofA Diva, Candie Cox on her 1st alternate placement, and Ivanna Gently on her 2nd alternate qualification. All 3 qualify! I’m so proud of you, team Funky Chicken! Thank you to Club Scandals for allowing us to hold our event and make everyone feel so at home. I can’t wait to come back and maybe play again! How can you tell Santa is in the room? You can sense his presents, LOL! He might not be here yet, but it definitely won’t be long! I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday with their friends and family. Mine was excellent in the company of loved ones with great stories, jokes, and plenty of tasty treats.

Though the break has been lovely, we are in full swing with the preliminary season. So far, we’ve had four very impressive prelims, and I look forward to forward to many more successes to come. Here’s the November recap for all of you to enjoy.

On the 4th, I had the pleasure of crowning Vicious Divine Valentine, our 1st Miss Southern States USofA Diva. Congratulations to you, Rayvn Noir Downe, and Vivica Slick on your placements! I’m proud to announce that all three will be representing the Southern States regional during nationals in Dayton, Ohio. Excellent job to Marco and Drew on a great prelim! It was also special because we had a visit from our national promoters, Gage Gatlyn and Devin Dame.

Thank you for making the long drive to come and support us it really meant a lot. I love you two! The following day, I ventured to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where I was given the honor of judging the Miss and Mr. Another Rumor pageant. This is a contest that participants compete in for their own monthly show. I had the opportunity to meet so many new and young drag artists. Congrats to Maci Lyn Meridian on capturing the Miss title and Beau Davis on attaining the Mr. title. The following weekend, I attended the Miss Texas USofA Diva pageant at Sue Ellen’s in Dallas. Congratulations to Ruby Scott on her win and Lana Del Gay on her 1st alternate placement. Welcome to the qualified list! Dirty Blonde, it was great working with you. Great work to you! Later on that weekend, I got to witness Tareal Davenport Phillips step down and crown the next Miss Oklahoma USofA Diva, Maci Lyn Meridian. Congrats to you on your two wins, with the 2nd one being on your 1 year drag birthday! Congratulations also goes to Luna Raven Tripp Davenport Phillips on her 1st alternate qualification. Stellar work, David and Tami on an exceptional prelim, and I might add, the largest prelim so far with 6 stunning contestants!

Welcome in friends and family! It’s that time of year again. The leaves continue to change into the warmth of reds, oranges, and yellows. The evenings are getting a bit chillier, the events continue to multiply, and pageant season is in full swing!

Though I live my life, year round, with gratitude in my heart, this time of the year sparks an extra special time to remember to give thanks.

Give thanks to your friends, your family, your loving fans, and your nation. We have a cornucopia of pageants just underway, and I cannot wait to report to everyone as the year progresses. In the meantime, this is an election year, and we have duties as citizens to embark upon. I was brought up to keep politics private, and I will continue to do so, but please remember the pride and appreciation we had in our hearts on Marriage Equality Day. Please remember the lives we lost in Orlando, and the way our LGBT community worked together (and continue to do so) for our fallen. I implore you to think about our rights as a queer community when you go to place your vote. Ladies, it really hasn’t been that long since we’ve gained our right to vote. Vote for human decency. Vote because you can. Because you should. Because you’re an American, and it’s not only your right, but it’s your duty. Please remember Susan B. Anthony and the other women who have paved our way.

We can never know their torments for the opportunities we’ve been afforded.

Onto other business, I’d really like to congratulate Kane Connors and Michael LaMasters on their exceptional reigns as Mr. Gay USofA at Large and Mr. Gay USofA. You two have been amazing role models for not only your contestants, but your brothers and sisters, as well. These are incredible shoes to fill, but I’ve no doubt that Dakota Whitney, your newly crowned Mr. Gay USofA at Large and Desi Andrews, your newly crowned Mr. Gay USofA will withstand their administrative duties with ease. Congratulations to you two, and welcome to the court! Craig Henderson, I’d like to thank you again for inviting me to attend and perform during final night. It was such an honor, and my sincere pleasure. To all the contestants I got to speak with many of you, and I’m very confident in the plans you’ve all made for future endeavors with USofA next year. It’s always inspiring to attend a pageant with so many creative people working with one another to better themselves as humans through their art. To have art as a platform to tell your story is to live and breathe. Continue reading Victoria’s Vignette – November Edition

Hello, friends and family! It’s October, and the competitive season has really has really kicked off with a bang for the USofA MI’s and the USofA MI Classics. September 18th, I was honored with the privilege to judge the Mister Oklahoma USofA MI and the Mister Oklahoma USofA MI Classic pageants. What a night of pageantry! Every contestant did a super job, and put serious work into their packages. You all should be so proud of yourselves. Keep working as hard as you are, and learn from each opportunity you are given. Congratulations to Tami Snelson and David Dees on promoting such an awesome pageant, and I thank you for allowing me to judge and entertain. That venue was packed, and the patrons were incredible. Congrats to Valentino on his first prelim of the season also being an incredible step down, and congrats to D’angelo of an amazing reign, as well. Congratulations also goes to your newly crowned Mister Oklahoma USofA MI, Miles Long and your newly crowned Mister Oklahoma USofA MI Classic, King Mykal Khristian. Val and Abs, I’m so proud of you two. Excellent work on demonstrating your administrative abilities on your first preliminary of the season.

For any of you who may not know this, but fall is the most magical time of the year for me. Not only did my birthday fall on the first day of fall, but the first day of fall also lent itself to the Miss Gay USofA At Large national pageant that was held in Columbus, Ohio. Oh. My. goodness. These national pageants are slaying me! The work. The dedication. Wow! Jeremy Burnette, thank you so much for inviting Val and I to come and perform a duet on final night of your pageant. It was such an honor to represent our USofA Divas at your event. Congratulations to Ka’aliyah McKim Diamond on a spectacular reign. You have no idea what it means to me that we got to simultaneously reign, even if just for a bit. I love you, sister! Congratulations to Sasha Lauren on capturing the title of Miss Gay USofA At Large, and welcome to the USofA court. Such an amazing year lies ahead, and I’m so excited for you! Wonderful job to every contestant who took that stage. It’s an exciting adventure to get from deciding you want to participate in a preliminary pageant, to qualifying, to get to the top 12. It’s the biggest span of personal growth and learning I’ve ever experienced, and I’m so happy for all you who got to experience that. To all non -qualifying contestants that competed this is a process. a journey. Take what you’ve learned, and use it as the fuel to your lamp. Light that creative fire, put in the work, and next time, you’ll land it like a 747. I’m so proud of all of you. Continue reading Victoria’s Vignette – October Edition
