As I sit here and reflect on this past year, I realize that it has been 8 months since I was crowned Miss Gay USofA Classic! Time flew by and I still cannot believe that I am living my dream.
This year has not been an easy one! December in particular was a hard one for me. I lost my dear sister and I’ve been experiencing health problems myself. I’ve had 4 surgeries so far and will have another one soon. I wanted to postpone it until after my give up but the doctor says that this is possibly not an option. That choices were: do it now or possibly be in a wheelchair within a few months. Hopefully this is my last surgery!
Enough about me, let’s talk but Classic preliminaries. My next stop will be Miss Gay California USofA Classic on January 27th. The pageant will be held at a beautiful venue, so I am super excited. Mr. Randee Stewart-Clark is the promoter and he or I will be happy to give you more information. I’m excited to work with such a professional individual.
January 28th is the Miss Gay Arkansas USofA Classic pageant. This will be held at Triniti Night Club and the promoter is Marco Del Gatto. We have all the details so feel free to contact either of us with any questions.
I am definitely looking forward to the new year. I’m excited about traveling across the country, catching up with old friends and making new ones. I’m also very excited to see what the contestants will bring to Classic in 2017!
Please don’t forget to visit my Facebook page, where I will be posting more preliminary details, especially about the Classic division. If you have any questions or need help or advice, please message me. Good luck and remember, if you don’t fight for your dreams, no one will! Much love and respect.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are in the holi- day season and I’m so excited. As you know pageants are slow this time of the year for pageants. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
To my classic ladies – may one of your New Year’s resolutions be to be Miss Gay USofA Classic 2017!
We had our first preliminary in Milwaukee, WI at La Cage night- club which was a beautiful venue. With a fabulous contestant and amazing line up of entertainers, at the end of the night we celebrated the winner Dee Richards – Miss Gay Wisconsin USofA Classic. I am sure she would be a great contestant for Miss Gay USofA Clas- sic with her fabulous promoters behind her 100%.
In our culture, we too often hear that big names are planning to compete. I don’t think this should stop anyone from competing. Ladies, PLEASE don’t listen to this because to be the best you must compete against the best.
Remember that as an artist we must INVEST and to invest we must plan and to plan we must dream and to dream we must be in inspired. We need to remember a value in our lives and it’s from there that you can inspire and that’s the ultimate return to be Miss Gay USofA Classic.
I was able to put a Fundraiser together for children living with HIV. We had a great line up of entertainers who came together to make a difference. And we did just that! We raised $950.00. It was donated to the House of Hope, which is an organization in Houston, TX for children living with HIV. I was so happy that we did it together! October was a really busy month! Not only because I celebrated 50 (some) years of life, but I am extremely happy to continue to be able to work with some amazing entertainers in this industry.
Beginning with the first of October I was asked to join some of the top at a Miss Gay Texas Reunion Show. It’s was an amazing and unforgettable night and I got to see many of my old friends. Even though I was extremely busy in my personal life, I was able to spend time recruiting new promoters. Hopefully they all join the USofA Classic family. If you know anyone that would like to join our Classic division don’t hesitate to contact us!
In the middle of October we headed to Dallas, Texas to say good bye to Michael and Kane, and welcome two new jewels to the USofA Family. Our family is now complete again and I can’t wait to hit the road with all of them. It’s hard for me to say goodbye to someone so special. Michael LaMasters you have not only been an inspiration but a great mentor to many of us! Congratulations on a really successful reign. You broke the records! Never in history have we had so many contestants you left some big shoes to fill. I’m so happy for you and good luck in everything you do in life. I Love You. I would like to welcome our new Mr. Gay USofA Desi M. Andrews. You have grown so much in just a few years and I couldn’t be any happier that we get to share this journey. I’m sure your year would be a complete success.
At Mr. Gay USofA, I got to experience the family bond that we have created. It made me emotional but at the same time so happy. I got know my dear sister Aurora Sexton a little more as well as all as my brothers and sisters.
I also want to welcome Dakota Whitney our new Mr. Gay USofA at Large. If there is anything I can do for you, feel free to ask. It was sad that we had to say goodbye to someone that is a really special individual, he is not only caring and loving but he is a great friend. I will miss you Kane Connors. I love you for life and good luck in everything you do! Continue reading Love, Kindness and Tolerance – November Edition→
Hello everyone!! This was a busy month with many events taking place. During the beginning of September, I was part of a benefit show organized for one of my dearest friends.
I was so happy and honored to participate. Later, I had the chance to be a judge on Dessie’s Drag Race. This gave me the opportunity to encourage our new talent to fight for their dreams no matter how hard or far they may seem and to believe that we set our own limits to success.
I was also able to judge another amateur show “So You Think You Can Drag” again, which is a platform for up and coming entertainers and a great way to prepare for the world of pageantry.
In the middle of September, I was invited to be part of the Miss Utopia Pageant in Houston. It was truly an honor to be part of a great event and represent USofA. I also had the chance to catch up with Teryl Lynn Foxx, Miss Continental Elite. We had such a great time!
We are working on organizing a fundraiser for the Children’s HIV Foundation. The details are to be determined, but I will release them as soon as they’re available. I would truly appreciate your participation and support so that we can strengthen the LGBTQ community here and everywhere.
My September itinerary also included Columbus, Ohio for the Miss Gay USofA at Large pageant. I was filled with excitement to visit a new town and be able to catch up with old friends and make new ones! I was welcomed with open arms, so I do appreciate the hospitality from everyone, including the bar staff and management.
The formers were great and sweet to me, as well. They gave me great advice, so I appreciate all you ladies! I also got to talk to promoters for the Classic division and I hear that many contestants are looking forward to entering the completion. I am dedicated to creating new prelims, so I will keep you posted as more unfolds. Continue reading Love, Kindness and Tolerance – October Edition→
